We've had a few changes with the volunteer organizers. Nadine Kallen is the new Registrar for soccer (not Lisa Osler). Please get in touch during the next month if you would like to volunteer or coach/assistant coach: rosedalesoccer@gmail.com.

We are still looking for a parent volunteer to co-ordinate the U14 - U18 age group.

Unfortunately we are still experiencing some glitches with the registration system. Please be patient.

2012 Outdoor Soccer Registration - DELAYED UNTIL FEB 3rd, 2012

Unfortunately, there have been delays in updating the community membership component of the registration system so to refunding hundreds of membership fees, registration has been delayed until Friday, Feb 3rd at 6:00 pm. I am sorry for the inconvenience. One change you will notice when registering is that we have moved towards credit card payment only. This makes it significantly easier for your volunteer Soccer Management Team.

As well, there have been some recent changes to our Soccer "Management" Team. I would like to thank Nadine Kallen for volunteering to take on the role of registrar for the upcoming season. Lisa Osler will move into the co-ordinator role for U10-U12. This now means we have co-ordinators for all age groups! I plan to transition out of the over the next month. It has been a great pleasure working with all the parents in this amazing community. We are very fortunate to live where we do, and I am very much looking forward to seeing many of you at the soccer fields come the end of April!!

2012 Outdoor Soccer Registration

It is hard to believe, but it is that time of year again! Outdoor Soccer registration is scheduled to start at 6 pm on February 1st and will close February 29, 2012.

Rosedale Soccer is a community based soccer program for U4 through U18. A valid community membership is required. If you do not have a membership, the system will automatically add it. The cost is $25 for Rosedale Residents and $30 for out of community residents.

Registration payment will be accepted online only.

Just a reminder: This is also a volunteer based program, so please make sure you sign up for many of the volunteer roles available to you! We are still looking for a co-ordiantor for U10 - U12. If no one volunteers for this role, that age group will not run. If you are interested in helping in this capacity, please contact Lisa Osler at 403.289.6824 or lisa@oslerhome.com.

Full program details are provided on the age group links on the left however I have outlined some highlights below:
Program Fees:
U4 - $35.00 (includes t-shirt and medal)
U6 - $55.00 (includes t-shirt and medal)

U8 - $60.00 (includes t-shirt and medal)
U10 - $75.00 (includes Jersey)

U12 - $75.00 (includes Jersey)

U14 and older - $80.00 (includes Jersey)

All players must also have a valid Rosedale Community Membership. If you do not have a membership the system will automatically add it to your registration. The fee is $25 for Rosedale residents and $30 for out of community families.
Age Groups: The registration system will automatically place you in the correct group.

Final Soccer Night for U4-U8 is a tentative GO for June 23rd

The forecast is calling for Thunderstorms tonight, but the weather seems to be holding for now. As this our last night, we're going to call tonight's games as a GO. As usual, should it be pouring at 6pm we'll make a call on the field if we need to cancel at the last minute.

Coaches, please make sure you get your team equipment bags and nets to me after tonight's games. I will be at the lockers by the tennis courts at 6:35pm and 7:35pm after all the games (as I'm also coaching, I'll do my best to get there asap after the games).

If tonight ends up being cancelled, please call me at 403-230-7987 to arrange getting the bags and nets to me.

U4-U8 Soccer is a GO for June 21st

As of now, the weather looks good for tonight's game. There is a chance of a thunderstorm, but hopefully it will come before or after our game time.

If it's pouring at 6pm, we'll make a call on the field about cancelling the night.
Just one more soccer night after this - the mini-tournament on Thursday, June 23rd. Thursday's weather looks good at this point.

Coaches, if you want to turn in your equipment bags and nets tonight, meet me by the side of the community centre by the tennis courts at 7:35pm. We can pull out what we need for the mini-tournament on Thursday.

U4-U8 Soccer cancelled for June 16th

The rain shows no sign of letting up, and it is quite cold out there.

It is with great regret that we have to cancel U4-U8 Soccer tonight. The parents were looking forward to playing against the kids tonight.

A reminder that Saturday is the season-ending gathering at the Rosedale Community Centre between 11am-1pm. Please let Kim know if you will be attending.

As well, we started a week late this year, so we still have games on June 21st and 23rd next week. Thursday June 23rd will be the final night Mini Tournament.

Soccer Cancelled for May 26th - U4-U8

I think it's safe to say that there will be no soccer for the U4-U8's tonight, with the rain showing no signs of letting up.

My apologies for the confusion about Tuesday, May24th. My original understanding was that I was only to post if soccer was cancelled. I realize now that with nights like Tuesday where the weather isn't perfect, this approach can be confusing.

So, from now on, I will be sure to post something every day on soccer nights at 3pm, rain or shine! Hopefully this will help everyone moving forward.

U8 Coaches Meeting - Next Game(when the rains stops!)

I menat to post this before I left for vacation ... it is very nice here in Hawaii ;-) ... but could all the U8 coaches meet 15 minutes before the next game (looking at the Calgary weather and rain seems to be in the near and long term forecast) to discuss potential changes to the teams. Now that a couple of games have been played, it is obvious that a couple of teams are significantly stronger than others and some parents have asked for some changes to make it fun for everyone. I think the coaches have a pretty good idea how to modify the teams so I am leaving it up to you guys!

The fields are very wet, so it's best that we cancel U4-U8 soccer for tonight!

The sun has come out, and it's warming up nicely outside so we are ready for the first Rosedale soccer night for 2011.

Coaches, please meet me at the side of the Rosedale Community Centre near the tennis courts where I will provide you with your equipment bag. U4 Coaches will be met at 5:45, and U6/U8 coaches at 6:15pm.

Please don't forget to check the Snack Schedule posted on the left; I believe all the coaches are providing snack on the first night.

Keeping an eye on the weather for May 3rd start!

Hi all,

I'm keeping an eye on the weather this afternoon, and will make a call about cancelling tonight's first soccer night at 3pm.

The Weather Office is calling for chances of thunderstorms, but clearing in the evening so we'll see what happens in the next hour.

Please bear with me, as this is my first time making the calls to cancel or not. I know we're all eager to get out on the soccer field!

2011 Schedules and Team Lists Now Updated!!

I have just loaded all of the schedules for the upcoming season. The U14 and U16/U18 schedules are still in draft format but should be finalized at the end of the month.

Thank you to Todd Houston for volunteering to be our Field Co-ordinator for the U4 to U8 teams for the upcoming season! Todd will meet everyone behind the Rosedale Community Centre to distribute the team bags (with jerseys) on the first night (Tuesday, May 3). Thank-you so much Todd for volunteering! Todd will also be our weather watcher for the U4 to U8 and will post on this website by 3:00 pm on game day if the evening matches will be cancelled.

Let's hope for better weather this year!

Thank-you to all of you for being patient as I am doing a lot of work behind the scenes and will be posting team schedules and lists by the end of this week. I am still finalizing some of the coaching positions and the ICHL is busy preparing the schedules. Here is an update on start dates: U4/U6/U8 - Starting Tuesday, May 2nd, 2011 U10 - Starting Thursday, April 21, 2011 U12 and above - Practices starting the week of May 2nd, games starting May 16th, 2011 Tentative schedules for U10 Boys/Girls have been submitted to the coaches for review. I guess it is just not meant to be! The rain may clear but it is still wet and I have been getting a lot of cancellations so I guess our season has come to an official end.

I will be in front of the community center from 6:30 - 6:45 pm ready to hand out medals if you want to come down and pick one up for your children and if coaches want to drop off their supplies. If you can't make that time, just email me and we will make other arrangements.

Next year, to avoid this, I will be budgeting for a year end celebration INDOORS!!

June 17 - Soccer Cancelled Tonight for U4-U8!

I know it is the last scheduled night of soccer for many of the age groups but the weather is just not co-operating. I am proposing that we re-schedule tonight's games for next Tuesday (current long term forecast indicates sun and 20C ... if you believe that!)

We can celebrate our end of season then ... for those of you whose children received their medals on Tuesday night, don't forget to bring them to the field for our celebration! If you can't make it, let me know and I will be sure to get your child's medal to you!

Hello everyone!

If you haven't heard from your children's coach yet, you will this week. Soccer is scheduled to begin for U10 and up this week and on Tuesday, April 27, for the U4 to U8 groups! The schedules will be posted on the website over the next week and this will also be the place that I will post cancellations due to bad weather, hopefully there will not be many days like that this year!

Thank you to all the volunteers that have helped get ready for the season, including our soccer co-ordiantors, those of you who have agreed to coach, and those of you who helped fill and sort over 200 soccer balls!

VOLUNTEERS: Our program is run solely by volunteers so we require your help! Unlike other communities we do not implement a No Volunteer fee. If we do not get enough help - the program simply will not run.

TRAVEL: As a reminder the U10 and older programs will require travel to other communities for games.

SPACE IS LIMITED and registration is first come, first served. If a team is full you will be placed on a waiting list. We try not to turn anyone away and if one team is full we will endeavour to make a second team. We are restricted however by field space and volunteers.

Program Fees:
U4s - $30.00 (includes t-shirt and medal)
U6/U8 - $55.00 (includes t-shirt and medal)
U10s and older - $55.00, in addition, players are required to purchase Rosedale Umbro uniforms (shirt, shorts, socks) for $30.98 or jersey only for $15.55.

All players must also have a valid Rosedale Community Membership. If you do not have a membership the system will automatically add it to your registration. The fee is $25 for Rosedale residents and $30 for out of community families.

Age Groups: The registration system will automatically place you in the correct group.
