Teams and coaches have been posted to the new Rosedale website: http://myrosedale.info/soccer/ Click on the Age Group tabs for specific team info. We are transitioning all of our soccer communication to the myrosedale site, so please check it often.

The season will commence with team meetings the last week in April, and Practices/Games in May. Many thanks to our hard working volunteers who make this program a success!

We are actively recruiting for next season, so please get in touch if you can help. One suggestion already put forward is a "used equipment swap". A great project if someone would like to take this on. (Many hands make light work!)

Referees - Please submit your contact info to rosedalesoccer@gmail.com so our coaches can get in touch. Its a great way to make a little extra cash for summer.

Soccer Update

Soccer registration has now officially closed and we are busy assembling teams. Currently we are still looking for more players for the U12 Girls and U18 Girls.

This is a good place to check for information, schedules, etc. for our upcoming season which starts end of April/beginning of May.

· Coaching  -   Brentwood Community will hold a coaches clinic on Saturday, April 21:  U4 – U8 from 8:00 am to 9:00 am and U10 and up from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Brentwood Sportsplex Arena. Please contact Giles Dupas (giles@gicor.com )

Soccer Update

We've had a few changes with the volunteer organizers. Nadine Kallen is the new Registrar for soccer (not Lisa Osler). Please get in touch during the next month if you would like to volunteer or coach/assistant coach: rosedalesoccer@gmail.com.

We are still looking for a parent volunteer to co-ordinate the U14 - U18 age group.

Unfortunately we are still experiencing some glitches with the registration system. Please be patient.

Registration Errors....

We seem to be having some errors within the registration process that did not occur in the test environment.  We are looking into it and will try to get it fixed as soon as possible.  Stay tuned....

2012 Outdoor Soccer Registration - DELAYED UNTIL FEB 3rd, 2012

Unfortunately, there have been delays in updating the community membership component of the registration system so to refunding hundreds of membership fees, registration has been delayed until Friday, Feb 3rd at 6:00 pm.  I am sorry for the inconvenience.  One change you will notice when registering is that we have moved towards credit card payment only.  This makes it significantly easier for your volunteer Soccer Management Team.

As well, there have been some recent changes to our Soccer "Management" Team.  I would like to thank Nadine Kallen for volunteering to take on the role of registrar for the upcoming season.  Lisa Osler will move into the co-ordinator role for U10-U12.  This now means we have co-ordinators for all age groups!  I plan to transition out of the over the next month.  It has been a great pleasure working with all the parents in this amazing community.  We are very fortunate to live where we do, and I am very much looking forward to seeing many of you at the soccer fields come the end of April!!

2012 Outdoor Soccer Registration

It is hard to believe, but it is that time of year again! Outdoor Soccer registration is scheduled to start at 6 pm on February 1st and will close February 29, 2012.

Rosedale Soccer is a community based soccer program for U4 through U18. A valid community membership is required. If you do not have a membership, the system will automatically add it. The cost is $25 for Rosedale Residents and $30 for out of community residents.

Registration payment will be accepted online only.

Just a reminder: This is also a volunteer based program, so please make sure you sign up for many of the volunteer roles available to you!  We are still looking for a co-ordiantor for U10 - U12.  If no one volunteers for this role, that age group will not run.  If you are interested in helping in this capacity, please contact Lisa Osler at 403.289.6824 or lisa@oslerhome.com.

Full program details are provided on the age group links on the left however I have outlined some highlights below:
Program Fees:
U4 - $35.00 (includes t-shirt and medal)
U6 - $55.00 (includes t-shirt and medal)

U8 - $60.00 (includes t-shirt and medal)
U10 - $75.00 (includes Jersey)

U12 -  $75.00 (includes Jersey)

U14 and older - $80.00 (includes Jersey)

All players must also have a valid Rosedale Community Membership. If you do not have a membership the system will automatically add it to your registration. The fee is $25 for Rosedale residents and $30 for out of community families.
Age Groups: The registration system will automatically place you in the correct group.

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to post this pictures! I have been meaning to for months and finally got around to it this weekend!  Almost time to start thinking about next year!

Final Soccer Night for U4-U8 is a tentative GO for June 23rd

The forecast is calling for Thunderstorms tonight, but the weather seems to be holding for now.  As this our last night, we're going to call tonight's games as a GO.  As usual, should it be pouring at 6pm we'll make a call on the field if we need to cancel at the last minute.

Coaches, please make sure you get your team equipment bags and nets to me after tonight's games.  I will be at the lockers by the tennis courts at 6:35pm and 7:35pm after all the games (as I'm also coaching, I'll do my best to get there asap after the games).

If tonight ends up being cancelled, please call me at 403-230-7987 to arrange getting the bags and nets to me.

U4-U8 Soccer is a GO for June 21st

As of now, the weather looks good for tonight's game.  There is a chance of a thunderstorm, but hopefully it will come before or after our game time. 

If it's pouring at 6pm, we'll make a call on the field about cancelling the night.
Just one more soccer night after this - the mini-tournament on Thursday, June 23rd.  Thursday's weather looks good at this point.

Coaches, if you want to turn in your equipment bags and nets tonight, meet me by the side of the community centre by the tennis courts at 7:35pm.  We can pull out what we need for the mini-tournament on Thursday.

U4-U8 Soccer cancelled for June 16th

The rain shows no sign of letting up, and it is quite cold out there.

It is with great regret that we have to cancel U4-U8 Soccer tonight.  The parents were looking forward to playing against the kids tonight.

A reminder that Saturday is the season-ending gathering at the Rosedale Community Centre between 11am-1pm.  Please let Kim know if you will be attending.

As well, we started a week late this year, so we still have games on June 21st and 23rd next week.  Thursday June 23rd will be the final night Mini Tournament.

U4-U8 Soccer is on for May 31st

The forecast is for clear skies tonight, so soccer is on for tonight, May 31st.

Parents please note that the mosquitos are out in full force this year due to the wet spring. If your child is particularly susceptible to bug bites, it might be a good idea to apply some bug spray for tonight's games.

Soccer Cancelled for May 26th - U4-U8

I think it's safe to say that there will be no soccer for the U4-U8's tonight, with the rain showing no signs of letting up.

My apologies for the confusion about Tuesday, May24th. My original understanding was that I was only to post if soccer was cancelled. I realize now that with nights like Tuesday where the weather isn't perfect, this approach can be confusing.

So, from now on, I will be sure to post something every day on soccer nights at 3pm, rain or shine! Hopefully this will help everyone moving forward.
